nr Knockatee

Coming over the pass beside Knockatee from Tuosist before the road drops down into Lauragh

Knockatee

Coming from Ardea on the way to Lauragh, looking at Knockatee Mountain, and a small standing stone. This is the impressive mountain that you will see across Kilmackilogue Harbour from the Old Green Road above Lauragh

Snake Rock

This snaking rock is just a short ways off the Way as it passes Knockatee. The view is breathtaking, looking down into the harbour of Kilmackilogue and beyond to Cumeengadhra in the distance . You can just see the Way in the extreme right center of the picture as it meanders down to the forest

Bridge

This is a wonderful old stone bridge, with Knockatee Mountain in the distance. You will walk over it on your way to the Old Green Road and so on up to the stone circle of Cashekeelty see below

Stone Circle marker

This is the signpost and style at the side of the main Ardgroom to Lauragh road. Climb over and make your way up beside the cascading stream on your right to the next style then go to your right, over the footbridge and on up the hill to the top where you will find the stone circle below

The view from outside the Post Office in Lauragh, looking into the valley of Cumeengadhra which you can go into on a separate walk off the Beara Way

Cashekeelty

Cashakeelty

The view (left) looking the opposite way to the picture above. If you look closely you can just make out the stones in the above picture, shows how big the circle layout is. The stone shown here on the left are right beside the Beara Way

This group of stones is much larger than is first seen. The circle actually straddles both sides of the Beara Way (known as the Old Green Road to Lauragh). Just in front of the trees is where the Way passes, and as you walk it take note of the stones and see how they form a huge circle
